We have been eating at La Palapa for over 15 years and have loved every meal! The Veggie Burro and the Palapa Burro are favorites.
Best most authentic Mexican food, friendly service, casual setting.
Great food, happy people and the best soup anywhere.
We love the food....well worth it. A great family owned business that has always gone the extra mile for its customers and the community.
Their veggie Burro is amazing and huge. The staff is friendly.
Excellent food especially the salsa! Tres leches cake was amazing as well. Fresh and yummy shrimp.
Best Mexican food ever. Quality and consistency, unique dishes, great service, and an AWESOME beer selection make La Palapa my hands down favorite restaurant in all of SLO. Authentic flavor, try carnitas.
The food is very good and the service is friendly. However, I am little put off because last week they refused to make my daughter a burrito to go at lunch time because they were too busy. We are regular dinner patrons so it was disappointing. After all how hard is it to make a burrito?
We eat out regularly couple times a month and we have tried every Mexican restaurant in this area and this by far is the best the grandmother makes all the corn tortillas and flour tortillas from scratch handmade everyday once a week one of the family members makes the tres leches cake! The use of local produce and their food is just incomparable the atmosphere is beautiful they have a bar and sitting in the bar as well they also have flat screen TVs! They don't taste like your typical Mexican food it's way better usually what people have is a basic Mexican meal rice beans entree but these people go way out of their way to make the experience unlike any other, the view is beautiful, as it is right across the street from the ocean!
The food is always good, the ambiance quiet and clean, and the prices reasonable.
Best Mexicans food with the best location around. The staff is super friendly. The chips and salsa are the best best I have ever had.
Absolutely amazing. You can taste the quality of the food they prepare. Well worth the wait. It's my weekly addiction.
My family and I visited this place by chance, we were in town and didn't know where to eat so we were some reading some reviews of local places and I did not really feel like having Mexican food so we drove to this area looking for something new and we found this place called The Sculptured Egg and what do you know! it was closed and my wife suggested this place, Well! We arrived to the reception and we were greeted very politely and were seated rather quick the waitress handed the menu and asked if we would like something to drink and so on and so forth. The whole time we were there, we didn't have to ask the waitress for anything because she was very alert and payed close attention to refills, salsa, tortillas, and everything else. As much as I hate to admit, the food was delicious and the servings were plenty, the service was excellent, the place was very clean. we had a nice view of the sunset, the restrooms were clean and parking was not a problem. I do not care much for the town but if I were in the vicinity I would absolutely drive here to enjoy this food and service again. well deserved (FIVE STAR)
La Palapa is the place to go for the best authentic Mexican food in the area, and conviently located across the street from the beautiful Baywood waterfront and Pier. Monday nights from November through April have super fun concerts from 5-7. Service is great - you're like family when you're there. Awesome!
